You can recycle oyster shells at the Deltaville Convenience Center. According to the Southside Sentinel the facility is operated by the Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program and the collected shells will be used to help in oyster reef reconstruction in the Virginia portion of the Chesapeake Bay. A collection bin was donated by Ambrose Disposal and will be permanently located at the center. The shell collection program started nearly 10 years ago.
