The Virginia Department of Health announced the second presumed monkeypox case in a Virginia resident. Testing was completed in Virginia and now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will confirm the case.
Multiple countries are currently experiencing a monkeypox outbreak. Few hospitalizations and one death have been reported globally thus far. As of last week the CDC reported just over 170 cases in the United States.
