The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office receives accreditation for the 5th time from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission. The voluntary program is based on nearly 200 professional standards and around 25% of the commonwealth’s law enforcement agencies recieve accreditation. Departments renew their accreditation every four years. According to Westmoreland News the certificate was presented to the department by Colonel Steven Pike of the Virginia Capitol Police and New Kent County Sheriff Joe McLaughlin.
