Virginia Getting Additional COVID-19 Vaccine Provider

Starting next month you’ll have another COVID-19 vaccine provider to choose from. The Virginia Department of Health announced it is getting over 20,000 doses of the Novavax vaccine by the middle of August. Officials say this vaccine for those 18 and older uses a different technology than the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Booster shots for Novavax are not available. According to VDH those who are unvaccinated and without a booster remain at the highest risk of severe illness and hospitalization from COVID-19.
