The Virginia Land Conservation Foundation opened the application window for nearly $15 million in grants which according to officials is a record amount. The foundation provides grants to support conservation in the following categories: farmland preservation, forest preservation, historic preservation, natural area protection, and open spaces and parks. Application deadline is Sept. 6. An online workshop for potential applicants is scheduled for Aug. 8 at 1:00 p.m.
