Virginia Recovers Money For Defrauded Servicemenbers and Veterans

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares’ office reports the Commonwealth recovered money or military members and veterans defrauded by a national jeweler. Over a million dollars in potential restitution for over 3,800 residents and $1.7 million in debt forgiveness for over 1,000 victims is awarded from a multi-state settlement against Harris Jewelry. The company is accused of using deceptive marketing tactics to lure active duty servicemembers to their financing program, falsely claiming it would improve their credit scores
