When the General Assembly convenes in 4 months for its 2023 session they will not be meeting in their new chambers next to Capitol Square. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch the new assembly building which is part of a $300 million package of capital projects cannot be completed as scheduled this fall because supply-chain delays have prevented the timely delivery of critical equipment. The delay means legislators and assembly employees will remain in the Pocahontas Building on East Main Street.
