The Virginia Department of Forestry is again asking residents to collect acorns and seeds which will help grow the next generation of oak, walnut and chestnut trees. Bring acorns and other seeds to the local Department of Forestry office. They will go to the department’s Augusta Nursery and seedlings will be sold to state landowners. Trees that come from donated seeds often help to reforest open areas. Donation deadline is Oct. 14.
