The Virginia DOT is proposing to create a dedicated right-turn lane off of Route 3 – Main Street in Kilmarnock onto Route 688 – James B. Jones Memorial Highway – to alleviate traffic back-ups at that intersection. It will facilitate truck traffic as non-through trucks must use Route 688 since it is the truck by-pass around the town.
