Essex County Administrato, Michael Lombardo announced his retirement effective December 30. Lombardo became County Administrator in 2019. The county Board of Supervisors issued a statement saying it is committed to ensure the continuity of services and support of citizens and staff as the board begins to transition. A search will be conducting with the assistance of a recruitment firm. The Board also plans to appoint an Interim County Administrator to serve during the recruitment process.
