The Kilmarnock Town Council is considering actions to improive so-called “eyesore” buildings in the heart of downtown. News on the Neck reports Mayor Mae Umphlett outlined to the Council the ongoing complaints about the appearance of a building at the corner of Irvington Rd. and Main St. Umphlett says she’s had similar complaints about the Lewis Trimble building near Town Hall. The Council will be getting a list of properties to be reviewed so it can determine what legislation could be enacted.
