The Middlesex County Economic Development Authority is applying to the Virginia Tourism Corporation for a $120,000 grant. According to the Southside Sentinel the funds are already allocated to Middlesex County and must be used to promote tourism in the county. Proposed uses include development of a Middlesex County Blueway Trail targeted at individuals, groups and families who enjoy the water. Another proposal is to create an interactive map showing dining, history, services, marinas, towns and lodging.
