A public hearing is set for Nov. 15 on deeding the Confederate monument on the Mathews County court green to a private entity. The Gazette-Journal repiorted the meeting vote came after a contentious Board of Supervisors meeting that enbded up with tempers flaring. The Board didn’t disclose what entity would get the statue and title to the land it is on. The heraing will be at Mathews High School and begins at 6:00 p.m.
