Virginia is getting a new voter registration system but it won’t be operational for at least 2 years. According to Department of Elections Commissioner Susan Beals the new system will improve technology and security while streamlining workflows and processes for voters, election officials and department staff. The Department is partnering with local registrars to evaluate and review the new system’s functionality as it is developed and put into place.
