A conservation group is the high bidder in an auction of a 1,000 acre Fones Cliffs property that was to be the location of hundreds of homes and an 18-hole golf course. The Bay Journal reports The Conservation Fund, a national nonprofit focused on land preservation made a $8.1 million bid during a bankruptcy sale on Nov. 3. A bankruptcy judge will need to approve the bid before the sale will close.
