New wastewater treatment plant up and pumping

Nearly eight years after the initial application process began, White Stone’s new $6 million public sewage system is up and pumping. Town council and staff met at the 19.83-acre site off of Mosquito Point Road on November 10th to tour the wastewater treatment plant. According to town manager Patrick Frere, the first connection was made and the plant went on line as operational September 22nd. Approximately 70 hookups, including 45 residential and 25 commercial, have now been completed. The first phase of the sewage project will include 175 hookups. Barring bad weather and other unexpected circumstances, all hookups should be completed by late February.
