Officers with the Tappahannock Police Department were dispatched to the residence on Water Lane on Friday morning for an unresponsive person. Upon arrival they found a 52 woman dead inside the home. The body and name is being withheld until positive ID has been made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The Tappahannock Police Department is being aided in the investigation by the Essex Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
