Miyares Secures $16.8M from JUUL Settlement

Attorney General Jason Miyares announced that Virginia has joined a coalition of 33 states in securing a settlement from e-cigarette manufacturer JUUL Labs over claims the company lured youth into using “vaping” products. The plaintiffs charged that JUUL used social media marketing campaigns, easily concealable e-cigarette designs, youth-friendly flavors, and other means to addict a new generation of Americans to nicotine. Virginia will receive at least $16.8 million from the settlement.
