Rosenwald School Now On Virginia Landmarks Register

Julius Rosenwald High School in Reedville is now on the Virginia Landmarks Register. It was built in 1916 with money from the Rosenwald Fund established by Julius Rosenwald, part-owner of Sears, Roebuck, and Co. It was the only high school for Black students in Northumberland County during the segregation era. It now will be submitted for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
