As many local governments are looking at short-term rental regulations those efforts may be thwarted if legislation being considered in the General Assembly becomes law. The measure would prevent a locality from restricting rentals managed by a Virginia realtor. Short-term rentals not managed by a Virginia realtor would continue to be regulated by the locality. It’s not clear how much support the bills have.
