A lawsuit filed against 3 former Mathews County employees is referred to a settlement conference. The Gazette-Journal reports the suit was filed in 2019 by Mark and Candy Eubank naming former wetlands administrator Sue Thomas, former county administrator Mindy Moran, and former planning and zoning director John Shaw as defendants. The Eubanks claimed the 3 engaged in a scheme to force tearing down their house so the county could acquire the property for increased public access.
