VPF Explains Why Egg Prices Are Up

If you’ve been to the grocery store recently to buy a dozen eggs you may have notice it’s a lot more expoensive than before. According to the Virginia Poultry Federation the price hikes are due to a number of factors including increased feed and fuel costs along with higher wages. Officials say another factor is the avian flu which has reduced the number of laying hens by around 40 million.
