GA Passes Shoplifting Gangs Prosecution Bills

The General Assembly passes legislation toughening prosecution of so-called “shoplifting gangs”, groups that invade retailers to make off with thousands in merchandise. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch the bills say it would be a felony for two or more people to act together to steal goods from one or more stores, or to conspire to. A conviction comes with a prison term of five to 20 years.
