The Lancaster County School Board gets a first look at the 2024 fiscal year budget proposed by superintendent Jessica Davis. The Rappahannock Record reports the $18.1 million spending plan is 6% less than the current budget. Davis said the overall decrease is due to the $1.1 million received for school construction that came from the state last year. The division is waiting to hear how the state will deal with the $200 million revenue loss from the 1% grocery tax elimination.
