The Mathews County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an arson last Friday. A resident in the 2000 block of Hallieford Road reported her vehicle on fire in her driveway. The resident said they saw a man in dark clothing running from the scene. Deputies responded and did not locate anyone in the area. Evidence was recovered at the scene. A possible suspect has been identified and investigators are following up on leads.
