Public Comments Open On RGGI Withdrawl

Virginians can now weigh in on the state’s future in a multi-state initiative to reduce carbon pollution. Public comments are being accepted on if Virginia should stay in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. It caps carbon dioxide emissions from power plants but companies can pay to go over the cap. That money goes back to the states. Gov. Glenn Youngkin says he wants to leave the initiative calling it a “regressive tax”. Public comments will be accepted here through March 31.
