VDACS Advises Bird Owners To Protect Against Avian Ful

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is urging bird owners to stay vigilant against avian influenza. 2 cases were discovered in commercial turkey flocks in Rockingham County. Officials said they are ramping up biosecurity measures on poultry farms and encouraging backyard poultry owners to do the same. Bird owners should report poultry illnesses or unusual deaths to the state veterinarian’s office.
