Younhkin Looking For New Health Commissioner

The Youngkin administration is looking for a new nominee for health commissioner after the Senate refused to approve the appointment of Dr. Colin Greene. Senators voted last week to remove Greene, who was reprimanded by the Board of Health last year for controversial remarks he made in a newspaper interview. Governor Youngkin asked Virrginia Department of Heealth chief operating officer Christopher Lindsay to handle the day-to-day operations at the agency while Greene’s successor is chosen. State law says the commissioner must be a physician.
