The Virginia Department of Historic Resources National Register Evaluation Committee recommended that the DAW Theatre in Tappahannock be individually eligible for the state and national registers. This comes as the DAW Theatre Foundation prepares to launch a fundraising campaign to restore the historic theater which is estimated to cost $3.5 million. Department personnel will revisit and update the Tappahannock Historic District later this year which may provide funding opportunities for other properties.
