The Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund awarded a grant to The Vault on Main Street in Gloucester. According to the Peninsula Chronicle the former SunTrust bank branch was bought by Lynchburg developer Charles Stewart Smith last year with plans to convert it into a special-events venue. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced last month more than $1 million in Site Remediation Grants were awarded to four localities including $150,000 for The Vault.
