A Gloucester County Public Utilities Department employee develops a tool to simplify fire hydrant repairs saving taxpayers thousands of dollars. The tool created by Senior Utility Maintenance Technician Joseph Doster eliminates the need for a full hydrant replacement and allows for a rebuild instead. Tne issue was with the tops which were difficult to turn to get inside the hydrants, and then once it is taken off, pieces had broken and fallen to the bottom of the hydrant.
