Plans are submitted for a new Dollar General store to be located on Twiggs Ferry Road in the Cobbs Creek/Dutton area of Mathews. According to the Gazette-Journal the plans call for a 156-foot by 80-foot building and a parking layout very similar to the one used for the Dollar General on Buckley Hall Road at Hudgins. The Mathews Planning and Zoning department and several outside agencies will review the plan before it’s approved for implementation.
