A public hearing on Mathews County’s property reassessment is set for March 30 at 6:00 p.m.in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. The Gazette-Journal reports the reassessment shows that overall property values have increased by 37 percent since the last reassessment six years ago. Commissioner of the Revenue Les Hall says a locality can benefit from the increase in property values after a reassessment to no more than 1 percent.
