Roaming Pig Owner Indicted By Grand Jury

A grand jury indicts the Merrty Point resident whose pigs running loose resulted in multiple complaints from neighbors. The Rappahannock Record reports the owner was four counts of causing a public nuisance. The grand jury found that she was keeping over 100 pigs and failing to contain them properly. One charge was specifically related to environmental damage, stating the roaming pigs were destroying natural vegetation and “allowing contaminated runoff into the coastal waterways”.
