Tow Companies Could Be Adding Surcharge

The next time you have your vehicle towed you could be paying an additional $20 if a bill on Governor Glenn Youngkin’s desk is signed into law. The Virginia Mercury repoirts the General Assembly passed legislation allowing tow truck operators to add the surcharge for covering fuel costs. A vehicle tow can cost up to $150 in Virginia, with exceptions depending on locality and whether the towing happens on a weekend or holiday.
