The Virginia Department of Health issued an update about the community outbreak of meningococcal disease that continues to spread in eastern Virginia. Twelve caseshave been reported since June 2022 and the outbreak was declared in September. 3 patients have died from complications associated with the disease. Officials say this strain is believed to be circulating more widely, both in Virginia and other states.
