In Gloucester, Bay Transit offers an “Uber-like” service called Bay Transit Express, which has expanded within the Gloucester market. Now, Bay Transit officials say they think Tappahannock and Kilmarnock could be other places where a microtransit service could work. The organization has not net with local government officials about getting the app set up to serve that zone, but said if one of the towns were to express interest, Bay Transit could launch microtransit service in eight to 12 months.
