[n/kilmarnock] VDOT is asking for community feedback on a plan for a new traffic pattern in Warsaw, just north of Kilmarnock (Kill MAR Nick). The department will hold a public hearing today [Tue] on the design plan that involves reducing Rt. 360 to three wider lanes, including one through traffic in each direction and a two-way left turn lane in the center. Currently, there are four narrow lanes running through town, which has contributed, some believe, to multiple traffic incidents, ranging from minor mirror swipes to serious crashes. It was previously estimated that the conversion would be made between March and November of 2024, but opposition from locals, commuters, and from some town and county leaders could change that ETA, as officials expect more pushback at this week’s public hearing. The meeting will be held at 150 Court Circle, in Warsaw, from 5 – 7 p.m.. You can also comment using an online form at virginiadot.org/Route360RoadDiet.
