Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services Receives Federal Grant

The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services receives a federal grant to help low-income seniors age in their homes. According to the Augusta Free Press the $1.1 million grant from the the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will provide low-cost, low-barrier, high-impact home modifications to reduce older adults’ risk of falling. It will allow older adults to remain in their homes rather than move to nursing homes or other assisted care facilities.
