Kilmarnock Planning Commission Considering Formula Business Regulations For Steptoe’s

The Kilmarnock Planning Commission is continuing to consider regulating so-called “formula franchise businesses” throughout the Steptoe’s District. The Rappahannock Record reports Mayor Shawn Donahue made remarks to the commission regarding the lack of community involvement and consideration national franchises have in rural areas. Other issues discussed regarding new businesses coming within the Steptoe’s District, included architectural and aesthetic cohesion. The commission will conduct additional research and continue discussions at next month’s meeting.
