Rappahannock General Hospital announced Stephen Matthew “Matt” Smith has been named 2023 EMS Provider of the Year. According to the Rappahannock Record the honor was bestowed at an EMS banquet held last month in conjunction with National EMS Appreciation Week activities. Smith serves as the chief of emergency services for Lancaster County Emergency Services. He first joined Lancaster County EMS in 2006 as a volunteer and was hired into a paid position in 2010.
