Christchurch School announced it hired Rob Thomas of Mathews to oversee its new softball program. Thomas was the Head Softball Coach at Mathews High School from 1997-2018, leading the team to 12 district championships, four Region A championships, VHSL State Runner-Up in 2016, and the VHSL State Championship in 2017. He was named Coach of the Year in 2017. Christchurch is adding softball to its athletic offerings this school year, with the opening season in spring 2024.
