The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles reminds both motorcyclists and drivers to look out for each other. DMV Commissioner Gerald Lackey says while everyone can help reduce the number of tragedies that occur on the roads, it’s also important for drivers to understand the additional safety challenges faced by riders including visibility and protection. In 2022, there were over 2,000 motorcycle-related crashes resulting in 111 deaths which is 8.8% percent higher than in 2021.
