A 19 year old woman from Chesterfield County was shot in the head while driving on Interstate 85 in Sinwiddie County. T’miya Murphy died. She had been driving a Kia Optima southbound on I85 midmorning on August first, when her car was got by a passing vehicle near exit 63. The shooting led her to run off the road, and she hit the right shoulder. She later died from her injuries. The incident is not believed to be a case of road rage. As of Tuesday, Virginia State Polcie said it was too early to say if Murphy was targeted.
