The Virginia Board of Historic Resources and State Review Board will hold a joint meeting Sept. 21 to decide if Gwynn’s Island will be designated as a historic district. The Gazettee-Journal reports the meeting will be held in Danville, beginning at 9:30 a.m., and people can attend either in-person or virtually to give their comments to the boards. A public information meeting was held at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center for the Department of Historic Resources recently to provide more information and for community members to raise concerns and ask questions.
