Broad Creek dredging begins soon in Middlesex County. The Army Corps of Engineers will begin surveying both Jackson and Broad creeks for shoal locations (hot spots) on Sept. 29. The process should take a couple of weeks to get survey results. Based on new survey hot spot locations, the prep for emergency precision dredging will commence, led by the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission. A public/private partnership between marinas and county will be used to solicit RFPs, similar to what was done with Jackson Creek recently.
