Lancaster County’s Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste fall collection will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, at the Lancaster County Courthouse parking lot, 8265 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster. Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District officials say there is no charge to residents to drop these items off; however, the collection is limited to Lancaster County residents and property owners only. Items allowed include old household chemicals such as oil-based paint, cleaners, solvents and old bulbs. Electronic items are also allowed but residents should not bring ammunition, radioactive materials, tires, car batteries, medical waste, or prescription drugs.
