Recently, deputies responded to Twiggs Ferry Road on a report of a man standing in the middle of the bridge. Upon identification of the man, it was learned that there was a felony warrant out of Norfolk for his arrest. George Wayne Sharpe, Jr., W/M/38, of Hayes, was subsequently arrested. During a search incident to an arrest, ammunition was recovered from his person. An additional warrant was obtained for Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. Sharp was transported to the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, where he was ordered to be held without bond.
