Northumberland County Public Schools director of instruction Adam Letizia reported schools are actively recruiting faculty, including a counselor, an English teacher, a science teacher, a JROTC instructor, a math teacher, and a part-time emergency medical technician teacher at the high school, as well as a tutor at the elementary school. He also, at a recent meeting, noted a slight drop in student enrollment from what was previously collected. Enrollment totaled 1,196 students on August 18 and 1,179 students on September 5. The school board will next meet at 6 p.m. on October 2 in the auditorium at the middle/ high school complex, 201 Academic Lane, Claraville.
