The Tappahannock Planning Commission has taken the initial step towards the creation of a survey document that will ask for public input regarding traffic concerns. The Rappahannock Times reports according to the draft document, the “Planning Commission will work with our residents to resolve concerns where there can be changes made with the assistance of the Town Council and the Virginia Department of Transportation.” The survey is the product of months of discussions regarding potential traffic calming strategies on certain town streets. The topic was initially touched upon in April by Commissioner Scott Cannady who resides along Water Lane, a street that has become notorious for “cut-through traffic” with motorists failing to obey the 25 miles per hour speed limit.
